Our Story
From Beijing Alleys to China’s High Passes
CycleQuest China began over two decades ago as QiYi (骑意) in Beijing, founded by lifelong cyclist Rob Ng. What started as exploring hidden mountain passes and hutong alleyways with local friends evolved as international riders began asking for something the travel industry couldn't provide: real bikes, accurate routes, and mechanical support without cookie-cutter tourist stops.
Today, our footprint spans 7 core cycling regions — from the limestone karst towers of Yangshuo to the high-altitude trails of Yunnan and Sichuan. We remain riders first: every route is scouted from the saddle, and every bike is maintained by mechanics who ride the very same roads.

Beijing
For over 3,000 years, Beijing has been the beating heart of Chinese civilization. It is a city of staggering contrasts: immense imperial palaces—the Forbidden City—sit beside intimate hutong alleyways where the echo of bicycle bells lingers. The Great Wall snakes along the northern mountains like a sleeping dragon, while futuristic skyscrapers pierce the skies of the CBD. As you pedal through this living museum, you feel the weight of history under your wheels: emperors, revolutionaries, dreamers. Yet the city never rests. From sizzling Peking duck stalls to hidden courtyard teahouses, Beijing thrums with the vibrant pulse of a modern superpower—ancient, bold, and utterly unforgettable.

Yangshuo
Guilin, in China's Guangxi region, is famous for having "the finest scenery under heaven." The city is dominated by spectacular karst topography—thousands of unique limestone peaks rising steeply from the ground like ancient sentinels. The crystal-clear Li River threads through this surreal landscape, its emerald waters mirroring the jagged hills. Key attractions include the iconic Elephant Trunk Hill, a rock formation resembling a giant elephant drinking from the river, and the breathtaking cruise to Yangshuo, where every bend reveals another postcard-perfect view.

Chengdu
Seven days from the giant pandas and teahouses of Chengdu west into the Tibetan Plateau. The route climbs Lixiao Road, crosses historic Mount Jiajin to Danba, tops Yala Snow Mountain onto the Tagong grasslands and summits the 4,298 m Zheduo Mountain Pass into Kangding, before an easy closing loop on Longquan Mountain.

Shangri-La
Where snow-capped peaks pierce the heavens, Shangri-La offers an otherworldly escape into Yunnan's wild frontier. Ride the First Bend of the Yangtze and Tiger Leaping Gorge, loop Napahai Lake past grazing yaks and prayer flags, and wander the cobblestone lanes of Dukezong, the “Moonlight City”. Lose yourself in the pristine lakes and meadows of Pudacuo. Here, ancient Tibetan myths breathe and untamed nature truly thrives.

Dali
6 Days Discover Lijiang & Dali Amflow E-Bike Tour — six days of guided enduro riding on Amflow E-MTBs, from the Ganheba dry riverbed beneath Jade Dragon Snow Mountain to the backcountry trails of Yunlong and Eryuan near Dali, between the Cangshan range and Erhai Lake. Purpose-built rider basecamps like the Dali Enduro Club, full van support, and the ancient towns of the Naxi and Bai people round out the ride.
