We rented gravel bikes from Cyclequest to ride around the Chengdu area and then a second trip around Lake Erhai, Dali. The service and bikes were excellent. It made our trip thoroughly enjoyable. I loved cycling in China. Bikes can go everywhere. It’s not the same in Canadian cities!.
This tour was one of the highlights of my whole China trip. I fully recommend booking a full day tour (even if not cheap 😉) as the guide took me to spots that I would have never found on my own. The views were absolutely stunning and it was such an amazing feeling cruising through this incredible landscape with an e-bike. The guide was very nice and helpful, setting a perfect pace, and took many pictures. The quality of the bike was also great. All in all - I had a perfect day!
NinaT2 – Thousand River & Mountains Tour · ESEverything was great! Bike was dropped off on time, fit perfectly and was in good condition. Biking around Chengdu was amazing. Cycling infrastructure here is incredible.
“Like new” road bike, delivered to my hotel.Great service and advice. Spent 4 days doing day trips and wandering round the Yangshou area. Approx 60-70km per day of cruisey riding in paradise! Thank you Ivan, Anne and all at Cyclequest.
MikeAUThanks Bike Asia for a great service. We had a beautiful ride from Guilin to Xingping. Rob helped coordinate bike rental delivery through Whats App weeks in advance. Bikes were great quality and looked new. They were delivered to our hotel on time. They came with locks, ponchos, front light, and phone holder. We also requested bag delivery for our luggage. 10/10 recommend!
KevinCAWhere did you ride, and would you ride it again? In Yangshuo, the route provided by Cyclequest was close to perfect. Definitely would do it again. How did pickup and return go? Pickup very good, in the return there was no one in the shop. How was the bike itself — condition, fit, ready to go? Good for the price.
HugoMXWe highly recommend renting bicycles from Cyclequest to anyone who likes a good adventure! First of all, shoutout to Ivan for his help and responsiveness concerning the reservation! We went with gravel bikes, amazing quality, and they were quickly fitted before the ride. We also received help with choosing the itinerary for our trip in Yangshuo, and it turned out to have an absolutely beautiful landscape. One of the best memories to keep from our trip to China! We highly recommend!
Anna D.FRSuper helpful employees, gave us a fabulous route. The bikes are really powerful and easy to use. We cycled on some of the most gorgeous paths and breathtaking views. Truly magical.
EllieGBIt was amazing, Snow helped set up the bike and the route was roughly 70km which had many beautiful sites!

Before you book
Yes! One-way Guilin-to-Yangshuo rentals are our most popular option. You can pick up your bike at our Guilin shop in the morning, ride either the 68 km Classic Route (G6 via Daxu and Yanshan) or the 127 km Epic Route (G7 via Qianjing Reservoir, Caoping, and Xingping), and drop the bike off directly at our Yangshuo shop without riding back.
For the 127 km Epic Route (G7)—which includes 1,355m of climbing and the 6.2 km Shaliwan karst pass—we recommend our carbon road fleet (De Rosa SK Pininfarina, Cannondale SuperSix EVO, or Specialized Tarmac SL6 Disc) or the Amflow PL Carbon e-MTB. For the flatter 68 km Classic Route (G6) or mixed village lanes, the Cannondale CAAD Optimo 3, Specialized Diverge E5 (flat-bar gravel), or Fnix 27.5 Step-Through E-Bike are ideal.
Yes. Our Guilin shop carries a dedicated family fleet including German-engineered PUKY kids' bikes in 16-inch (ages 4+, 105–125 cm), 20-inch (ages 6+, 115–138 cm), and 24-inch geared models (ages 8+, 130–150 cm), plus the Cannondale Kids Trail 26 (142–153 cm) with front suspension. Child helmets are included free of charge.
Helmets and GPX navigation are included: every bike leaves our Guilin workshop with a safety helmet and pre-loaded GPX tracks for our 7 mapped Guilin routes. Clipless pedals (Shimano SPD-SL, Shimano SPD or Look Keo) are a paid add-on at $5 USD per day; flat pedals come standard.
Guilin sits at 150m elevation with a humid subtropical climate. Autumn (September–November) offers dry, golden weather across the karst peaks; spring (March–May) brings misty river views and occasional light showers—our disc-brake road, gravel, and e-bike models handle wet limestone country tarmac with confidence.
A great ride demands great equipment. We do not compromise on our fleet. Whether you are tackling mountain trails or cruising scenic river valleys, our fully maintained, high-performance bikes are ready for the challenge. Our Premium E-Bike & MTB Fleet Includes: Specialized, Trek, Cannondale, Amflow, Fnix. Every bike is meticulously serviced by our in-house mechanics before every tour to ensure perfect performance.
