About Valerie Li
Senior Tour Design Specialist
Valerie Li has spent over ten years designing travel across China, and now leads the team behind CycleQuest China's custom cycling itineraries. She works with solo riders, couples and small groups rather than fixed departures, engineering routes that stay clear of heavy traffic and then building everything around them — boutique hotels and local guesthouses matched to each day's finish line, vetted local lunch and dinner spots, specialty coffee pitstops, and the photogenic viewpoints and village cultural events most visitors ride straight past. Every itinerary she builds ships as a complete digital package: turn-by-turn GPX tracks for Garmin, Wahoo, Strava and Komoot alongside Amap Global links that keep working offline inside China, a day-by-day master itinerary with distance, elevation profiles, difficulty ratings and recommended start times, and a curated map of food, coffee and stays. She consults with riders directly before departure to tune the route to their fitness and preferences, and her designs run from single-day city-and-countryside escapes to ten-day-plus cross-regional expeditions across Beijing, Chengdu and Sichuan, Guilin and Yangshuo, Dali and Erhai Lake, and Shangri-La.
