Introduction:
The XTC is Giant's cross-country hardtail, which means it is built to go uphill efficiently and cover distance rather than to huck off things. On an aluminium frame with 29-inch wheels it rolls over roots and loose stone easily and keeps its momentum, so a long forest climb is less work than it would be on smaller wheels. No rear suspension means less to go wrong and more of your effort going into the pedals. A good match for the fire roads and hard-packed trails around Chengdu and Yangshuo.
